Grand Junction, Colorado (March 28, 2023) —

The Grand Junction Economic Partnership is pleased to announce that Eve Lieberman,
Executive Director of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade
(OEDIT), will be this year’s keynote for the Western Colorado Economic Summit. The summit
will be held on Thursday, April 27 at Colorado Mesa University.

“We are thrilled to have Eve Lieberman as this year’s keynote speaker and look forward to her
insight regarding the future of Western Colorado’s economy,” said Curtis Englehart, Executive
Director of GJEP.

Lieberman was appointed to the position by Governor Polis and started in the role on January 2,
2023. OEDIT advances Colorado’s economy by supporting local and regional business
development across the state through financial and educational programs. Prior to serving at
OEDIT, Lieberman was the Governor’s chief policy advisor and legislative counselor. She also
has ten years of experience on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C., including working as Polis’ chief
of staff while he served in Congress.

During her keynote address, Lieberman will share her insights on Colorado’s current economic
landscape, how trends are shifting OEDIT’s role in advancing economic growth across the state,
and how Western Colorado businesses can benefit from OEDIT programming.

“The spirit of the Western Slope is evident in its increasingly diversified economy. From sectors
like energy and natural resources, to agriculture and outdoor recreation, to advanced
manufacturing, technology and healthcare, the culture and the economy are deeply tied to the
region’s geography and strong work ethic. I look forward to discussing current economic trends
and the ways that OEDIT and the State can support continued economic development in this
important part of Colorado,” said Lieberman.

The 2023 WCES will include multiple breakout sessions surrounding key economic
development topics impacting the region including workforce development, housing,
transportation, and new legislation. The full agenda is now available through

The Grand Junction Economic Partnership will also provide its annual update detailing the
organization’s economic impact, recent wins in the form of business relocations or expansions
within the region, and upcoming goals.

Englehart stated, “We have seen great momentum over the last several months, and we are
optimistic that it will continue. The WCES allows us to celebrate our collaborative success and
