The pursuit of a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) in the Grand Valley has been put on hold pending further funding. Early stages of development was nearly complete pre-COVID. Now, local and state funding is stretched thin, leading the development partners to hit pause until sometime in the first half of 2021.

Once complete, the FTZ will be a 1,500 square foot building at the Grand Junction Regional Airport, providing tax breaks for Western Colorado businesses doing international trade.
