OakStar Bank Breaks Ground On New Facility At Las Colonias

Grand Junction, Colorado (September 10, 2024)
The Grand Junction Economic Partnership (GJEP) and OakStar Bank are pleased to announce the groundbreaking of OakStar Bank’s new facility, located at the Riverfront at Las Colonias Park (2735 Riverside Parkway, Grand Junction CO).
The new 12,000 square-foot facility will feature a dynamic combination of restaurant/retail and office space as Oakstar Bank expands its presence in the region, reflecting their commitment to growth, innovation, and supporting the local community. OakStar Bank first established its presence in Grand Junction in 2021, operating out of 501 Main Street in downtown Grand Junction, and their new location underscores the bank’s dedication to long-term investment in the region.
“OakStar Bank is committed to serving our community while providing a different and dynamic banking experience. Our choice to build at Las Colonias is based on the same belief. We are excited to create this experience on the banks of the Colorado River and thank our loyal community members who have afforded us this opportunity,” said Clay Tufly, Market President.
The Riverfront at Las Colonias is a community asset that celebrates Grand Junction’s history, quality of life, and growing economy. The property began as a blighted riverfront that required intensive cleanup and the collaboration of federal, state, and local governments in addition to non-profit organizations and private businesses to transform the property into a place of confluence and opportunity. The now thriving 140-acre mixed used space includes a 15-acre business park, recreational opportunities, and cultural spaces enjoyed by businesses, residents, and visitors alike.
The Grand Junction Economic Partnership and the Las Colonias Development Corporation (LCDC) have worked closely with OakStar Bank throughout the process of site selection and navigating lease agreements for the property.
Curtis Englehart, Executive Director for GJEP said, “We are proud to welcome Oakstar Bank as one of the anchor tenants at Las Colonias. Their decision to build here is a strong indicator of the region’s growth and the continued appeal of this area. We are grateful for their investment in this community.”
