New ultra-low-cost carrier, Avelo, launched the “Grads-on-the-Go” sweepstakes today to honor the resilient Class of 2021 and celebrate the return to summer travel. 2021 graduates from a high school, college, university or technical school within 150 miles of Grand Junction Regional Airport are eligible to enter to win two roundtrip tickets each to L.A. In total, 21 Western Colorado grads will win.
GJEP was present at this morning’s press conference to launch the sweepstakes, where representatives from the Airport, Mesa County Valley School District 51 and Colorado Mesa University spoke. CMU President-Elect John Marshall also introduced new scholarships available to California-based prospective students and their families wishing to visit the campus – if they ultimately select CMU for their secondary education, their visit costs will be reimbursed by the college, including airfare. Marshall spoke about how access to flight services like Avelo is crucial to CMU’s recruitment efforts.
