December 27, 2016 – As 2016 comes to a close, GJEP executive director Kristi Pollard talks to local media about the successes of 2016 and what she’s anticipating for the New Year. It has been a busy year, including the launch of the Jump-Start tax credit program, which has brought lots of new business, and the Grand Valley officially made the map as an outdoor recreation hub in Colorado.

Listen in to her interview on KAFM Business Beat here, or read an excerpt from her year-end  interview in The Daily Sentinel with Penny Stine below:

“’It (Jump Start) has opened doors for us to talk to national media and international companies,’said Kristi Pollard, executive director of GJEP. ‘We have had more activity than we’ve had in years, with a number of site visits, and some who have visited three to four times.’

Also in 2016, the Governor’s Office designated the Grand Valley as an outdoor manufacturing hub, which has elevated the region in the eyes of outdoor manufacturers. According to Pollard, one-third(*see editor’s note below) of the companies GJEP is working with are in the outdoor manufacturing, with many who have done site visits.”
