Palisade

Palisade, Colorado, has a small-town feel and is famous for its Victorian neighborhoods, fine schools, low crime rate and a cozy downtown shopping area. Some of the finest orchards, vineyards, and farms in the state are located here. Surprisingly, Palisade provides easy accessibility to Walker Field airport, world-class medical services, entertainment and, of course, world-class fishing, skiing, hunting, and camping! What's more is the fantastic scenery and low-key lifestyle that the locals enjoy.

Population and Workforce

According to the US Census information, the Town of Palisade has a population of 2,579, an increase of almost 38% since 1990. The population is projected to continue to grow at a similar rate during the next 10 years. Due to Palisade's location in the Grand Junction MSA, the labor force available to companies located in Palisade is approximately 66,000 people.

Transportation

Palisade's strategic location on Interstate 70 offers businesses excellent access to millions of consumers. Interstate 70 is a major trucking route connecting the area directly with Denver and Salt Lake City. The Union Pacific Rail Line runs directly through Palisade, providing sites with railroad access. General aviation services are available at the Walker Field Airport, 20 minutes away on I-70, offering connections to Phoenix, Denver and Salt Lake City


Principal Industries

Palisade has a long-established agricultural community. Affectionately known as the Peach Capital of Colorado, the area is fast making a name for itself as a substantial part of Colorado's Wine Country. The Palisade area hosts 75% of the state's premium wine grape vineyards.

Education

Palisade schools are administered by the Mesa County Valley School District 51- one of the finest districts in the state. In addition, higher educational opportunities can be found at UTEC, Mesa State College, Colorado State University-Agriculture Extension, Intellitec College and Colorado Christian University.
