October 25, 2016 – Yesterday the Milken Institute released its 2016 State Technology and Science Index . According to the Milken Institute, “the index tracks and evaluates every state’s tech and science capabilities and their success at converting these assets into companies and high-paying jobs.”

Colorado ranked #2 U.S. state overall! While Colorado has consistently ranked in the top 5 since the index was first released in 2002 (Massachusetts maintains the #1 spot), this is the first time the Centennial State was first runner-up. Moreover, Colorado ranked #1 in human capital investment (up from #6 in 2014), which means as a state we are successfully building a talented STEM-related workforce.
