Tammy Reece and her brother Steve Thompson are Grand Junction natives. With their backgrounds in construction and real estate, both recognized a gap between the two industries and saw the potential to fill that gap with a new business and two years ago Project Coordinators, a company whose primary mission is to give homeowners and contractors an advocate and assistant to the home building process, was born.
In addition to assisting owners and contractors, Project Coordinators also often assists non-profit entities and volunteer boards; groups who don’t usually have time to devote their full attention to the building process. Help in obtaining conditional use permits and negotiating with government agencies are also a part of the services Tammy and Steve provide. They bill Project Coordinators as a construction consulting firm.
Being native to Grand Junction, starting their business here was an easy decision to make. When asked why Project Coordinators is a GJEP investor, Tammy says, “We were here in the ‘80’s and we saw what a difference the economic partnership made when were last in a slump, and having lived through it once before, we feel it’s very important for Grand Junction to become more diversified and we feel that GJEP is a perfect conduit for that.”
